Holiday decorations, twinkle lights, and the general cheer that fills the air makes this time of year magical – the snow we’re experiencing during this Canadian winter is certainly helpful, too! Whether your event happens to take place around the holidays or you’re organizing a holiday-themed party, make sure to include some of these festive ideas!
Decorate, Decorate, Decorate!
Decorations can bring home a theme. From fake snow to holiday-specific items, your attendees will appreciate the festive feel. If you don’t happen to live in a place that has snow, fake snow can be equally as impressive and exciting for guests who wouldn’t otherwise get to see a white Christmas.
Have Seasonal Food and Drink
There’s nothing quite like the foods of the holiday season and the holidays are for indulging! A few classics are eggnog, hot cocoa, candy canes, and gingerbread cookies. Consider having a gingerbread building competition or hot chocolate bar!
Get a Themed Photo Booth
Give your attendees something to pin, tweet, or snap with a themed photo booth. Include an array of fun props like Santa hats, New Year’s glasses, tinsel, and more. Make a fun backdrop by including fake snow, iconic holiday décor, and twinkle lights. The more outrageous and festive the better!
Include Family
The holidays are about family. Keep that in mind when planning and, if possible, make your event a family affair. Allowing the whole family to attend may increase event attendance and will give you the opportunity to try out different kid-friendly activities.
Give Back
Use this time to do some good. Make giving back a focus of your event by organizing a giving tree, a trip to a local soup kitchen, or collecting donations for a charity. No matter how you choose to give back, your attendees will appreciate the community outreach.
