As we find ourselves getting into the holiday season and event invitations being sent our way, I figured I’d share some tips for those hosting this year! And for those who are attending, don’t forget the hard work that goes into hosting an event of this caliber!
A Cocktail Reception
There’s no better way to kick off the evening than with champagne or a seasonal cocktail as your guests arrive! Choose your favourite bubbly or get creative with mulled wine in mason jars as guests arrive at your door.
A Spirited Aroma
Nothing sets the atmosphere for the evening quite like fragrance. Light candles throughout the space for a warm, holiday atmosphere, or hang scented decor like a sage wreath or prop a woodsy pine in the corner of the venue.
Pops of Colour
Add a seasonal nod to the holidays, instead of a full-blown theme, with a pop of color to your décor like fresh white florals, pomegranates and garlands. Also, metallic centerpieces complement it all and make a stylish and design-inspired atmosphere.
Cozy Conversations
Steer away from the notion of being overly-formal. Place clusters of oversized chairs and cozy blankets surrounding small tables in different corners of the room so that guests can set down their drinks while having an informal conversation.
Lighting is Everything
Next to fragrance, lighting is everything for setting the mood of the evening! For a warmer evening glow, transition to amber votive holders, chic string lights and tapered candles for instant ambiance.
