October is right around the corner and with that comes Oktoberfest! While we may not be in Germany, where Oktoberfest originated, Ontario has some pretty great Oktoberfest events coming up in the next few weeks.

Toronto Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest

Labelled as Canada’s Greatest Bavarian Festival, attracting more than a million visitors every year, the nine-day Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest based on the original German Oktoberfest has grown to become the second-largest Oktoberfest in the world. One of the main features of this event is the annual Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade complete with floats and bands, beer, beer-based celebrations, as well as a host of other cultural and entertainment attractions including the crowning of Miss Oktoberfest and the presence of the festival icons, Onkel Hans in his lederhosen and traditional felt hat, and Tante Frieda, a robust lady in a dirndl.
